Time Extends Life to Those Who Survive by Jim Feast

(Fly by Night Press, 2016)

Jim Feast’s poems are about his life long love for his wife. She is his muse, the subject of a desire that weaves in and around her words, her images and suffering as a Vietnamese refugee. Everything he sees speaks of Nhi, the Brooklyn Bridge, the streets in Flushing, her face and hands. This is a beautiful collection of lyrical images and straight-out thinking where two cultures make love. In Feast’s poems, desire is ever-moving and ecstacy a necessary part of ordinary life. This is a must-read book.
